PA Information and Applications

At Valley Day Camp we have super, fabulous PAs!  Our PAs have a ton of fun at camp but they also do a lot of important jobs.  These include helping campers try new things, leading games, singing songs, welcoming others, caring about each camper in their unit, and being fun to be with!  Each part helps our PAs develop their leadership skills and build life skills.  Our PAs are a super important part of our program!

Unfortunately there are only so many PA positions to go around thus we have to limit the number of PAs we can have at camp.  We wish that we could have an unlimited number of PAs, but that isn’t feasible.  We do our best to accommodate as many PAs as we possibly can.

Our PA program is NOT a first come, first served program.  We fill extremely quickly so we recommend that you register as soon as possible (registration will be posted on the evening of March 7th).  In addition to registration ALL PAs and PAs in Training must submit a PA Application and signed PA Expectations letter.  These forms must be mailed in with your registration.  Your registration will not be considered if these forms are missing.  We are posting these now so you have time to consider them before registration.  You will find a link to these below.
PAs must be going in to 8th grade in the fall (or above) and must have completed our training program here at Valley Day Camp.  If you are going in to 8th grade (or above) and have not completed our Valley Day Camp training you will need to do that this year at camp.  You will have training part of each camp day and work in a unit the rest of the day.  You will need both of the forms mentioned above.
If you are going in to 7th grade you are eligible to join our amazing new “LIA” program.  LIAs (pronounced Leah) will earn their Girl Scout Leader In Action award which is required before girls can earn their PA award.  LIAs will spend half of their day having a blast at camp and half of their day working on their LIA award including working with younger campers on a variety of activities.  LIAs do NOT need to complete the PA paperwork mentioned above.
