Totally Terrific Tuesday

Today was totally terrific!  The weather was cooperative.  The campers were full of life.  The PAs were full of fun and our day was full of surprises.

We started the day with an extra dose of terrific when Pilot McKenna brought her hot air balloon and basket into camp for everyone to discover.  We climbed aboard her basket, investigated the envelope (balloon part), and many even got to hit the burners to let off a blast of flames.  Due to wind she wasn't able to inflate the envelope.  We discovered that the burners are super loud  and the flames are super hot.  It was really cool!

Have your daughters come home saying strange words?  If so let us clear a few of them up for you.
Boondoggle/Boondoggling - verb - meaning: to make cool stuff out of plastic lace using complicated knots.  (Ssshhhh don't tell the campers that Boondoggling is really creating fancy knots.)
Boondoggle - noun - meaning: the cool thing I just made using plastic lace
Examples below...

Box Oven - noun - meaning: oven made out of a cardboard box.  Yes, you read that correctly.  Units F & G made real, working ovens out of cardboard boxes and even baked delicious cakes in them!

Unit H made watercolor birds
Mr. Pagemaster took our theme to heart when he got dressed for camp today. :)
