Camper Drop Off and Pick Up

Please plan to arrive by 9:15 in the morning (do not arrive before 9:00).  For pick up arrive before 4:00 (but not before 3:45) in the afternoon. The first day usually takes the longest, however it does get better! Please be patient with us as we do our best to get everyone in and out safely and efficiently.  You must stay in your vehicles.

It is a common misconception that arriving a few minutes late helps the traffic. Unfortunately late arrivals actually cause us to stop traffic in order to clear out the one way portions of the driveway.  This causes delays for everyone.  Please be sure to arrive at the designated times.

We can't stress enough the importance of carpooling to and from camp, even if it’s just meeting up at Safeway and putting girls into one vehicle!  Less vehicles means we can keep the single lane portions of the driveway clear, helps us gets kids out of cars more efficiently, and keeps us from backing up onto Big Rock Road.  Your help with carpooling makes it so we can have more kids in camp.  One of our size limitations is the number of vehicles we can get in and out of camp.

It is very important that you have everyone who might pick up your daughter listed on her pick up list.  We only release campers to people who are listed on her form.  We also check ID of anyone we do not know.  If someone comes to pick up your daughter and they are not on your list of approved drivers we will not release your daughter to them.  A common problem in pick up is a carpool driver who is the spouse of the person who was supposed to drive the carpool that day. For example Sally Smith was supposed to pick up the carpool today but she had a headache so her spouse, Sam Smith, came instead...unfortunately the other campers in the carpool only have Sally on their pick up list, not Sam.  But we can't release the campers to Sam.

If you want to add drivers to your daughter's list please send us an email of the people to add at valleydaycamp@gmail.com  Your daughter's name should be the subject line of the email.

Please bring a "letter" for each Unit you will have in your car.  We emailed you one with your camper's unit information but you are welcome to make your own.  Once we have transferred your camper to or from your car remove the corresponding letter so we will know you are ready to go.  Example in the photo above.
